Everyone has a story to tell and this is mine:
For Lixia, films have always been more than just an art form. They are an expression, a way in which we breathe life into the most ordinary things. Her love for films was first sparked when she received a DV Cam as a present. Ever since then, she has been passionate about using the camera as a tool for storytelling. When she was 15, she started serving in her church’s live feed ministry, handling camcorders in a broadcast setting weekly.
After finishing her diploma in Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Film, Sound & Video, she freelanced as a Camera Assistant where she got the chance to learn under various directors and DOPs in TVCs, features, and dramas.
The next step in her career was a pivot into the directorial department. She began learning the ropes as an Assistant Director, working mostly in drama series & documentaries.
She seeks to make her mark as a director/cinematographer, using moving images as her main storytelling tool.
