A Reflection of 2025 Highs, Lows & What’s Next for Vicinity
Our cohesion in Melaka made for unforgettable moments – stay tuned for our cohesion video.
2025 was the year everything accelerated.
For Vicinity, this wasn’t just a year of “more projects” – it was a year of necessary growth. New industries, new challenges, new faces on the team, and a renewed understanding of what it truly means to grow with our clients, not just for them.
And yep, if you’ve been wondering about the recent content we’ve been posting across our socials: the rumours are true.
As we move into 2026, Vicinity will soon be dropping the “Studio” from our name across all social platforms. Not because we’ve stopped being a studio, but because we’ve become so much more than one. Bigger vision. Broader capabilities. A brand identity that reflects the future of content marketing… and where we’re headed with our clients.
Before we talk about the future, here’s an honest look back at 2025.
2025 Highlights: A Year of Growth, Stretching & Firsts
Our agency team at work.
If we had to sum up the year in one word, it would be expansion.
- Breaking into new industries.
- Creating in unfamiliar environments.
- Growing the team – not just in size, but in capability, perspective, and creative confidence.
This year demanded fast learning, rapid adaptation, and consistently pushing beyond comfort zones – growing pains that many industry players are intimately familiar with.
Low Points: Growing Pains (The Good Kind)
Behind the scenes of our latest brand video, “The Rumours Are True” (November 2025).
But growth brings challenges.
The requests that began to come in went beyond traditional video production. But instead of saying, “That’s not what we do,” we asked a better question:
“What if we evolved to meet the full spectrum of what brands need today?”
That question reshaped 2025 for Vicinity – and it’s why we’re launching new service lines in 2026 that integrate strategy, social, and content-led solutions. Rather than siloed services, we envisioned Vicinity as a one-stop production house in Asia, offering the best of the best: video production, end-to-end digital marketing strategies, event coverage and management, and user-first design and motion graphics.
Trends We Saw in 2025
- Social-first video is no longer optional.
Short-form, vertical, native formats dominate. Brands are no longer producing content – they’re building ecosystems. - Creative efficiency is the new competitive edge.
AI-assisted scripting, production automation, and smart tools didn’t replace creativity – they supercharged it. - Authenticity still outperforms everything else.
The campaigns that resonated most weren’t the loudest; they were the most human.
How Our Team Evolved
Missing our Myanmar team as they had a grand time doing their own cohesion!
This year, we welcomed diverse talent across Asia, who shared fresh perspectives and multidisciplinary backgrounds. That energy elevated our work and strengthened our culture.
Project of the Year: SIM Student Life – Harassment Prevention Education Video
One project that stayed with us long after delivery was our Harassment Prevention Education video for @SIMGE. It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t designed to “go viral.” It was designed to matter.
As a team, we were reminded that content has power – not just to inform, but to protect, empower, and shape culture. At SIM, every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard, and this collaboration pushed us to handle a sensitive topic with honesty, empathy, and care. Creating work that sparks safer environments for young people felt bigger than a brief; it felt like purpose. And it reaffirmed something important for us heading into 2026: when storytelling is used responsibly, it can create real impact — sometimes the kind you can’t measure in views, only in people.
Our Toughest Challenge: Becoming “More Than a Studio”
Expanding into agency-level work, events, and transitioning into a full rebrand isn’t an easy task.
It demands internal restructuring, sharper strategy, and alignment conversations that aren’t always comfortable for an established business.
But like any challenge, it strengthens us in turn – creatively, operationally, and culturally.
And our rebrand reflects that growth: Vicinity has outgrown its old skin.
What’s Inspiring Us Right Now
Behind the scenes of our SG60 podcast.
The thing is, despite the tumultuous landscape, content creation has never been more exciting:
- Automation, AI, and collaborative tools
- Smarter workflows
- Ability to imagine bigger and deliver sharper
Innovation is now part of the craft – and we can’t wait to see what that unlocks.
Our Priority Going Into 2026
Sustainable growth has always been the name of the game.
Strong financial foundations give us the freedom to experiment, hire, invest, and push boundaries – without burning out the team or the business.
We want Vicinity to be creatively bold and operationally healthy.
What’s Next for Vicinity: 2026 and Beyond
Our producers’ roundtable.
Next year, we’re focusing on three things:
- Steady, strategic growth
- Stronger service lines that meet modern content demands
- A brand that reflects who we’ve become – and who we’re becoming
And here’s the wrap-up: We’re still a studio. We’re still creators at heart.
But we’re stepping into 2026 with a sharper identity, bigger capabilities, and a commitment to building long-term value for the brands that trust us.
Vicinity is evolving – and we’re excited to grow alongside our partners.
So here’s to a meaningful, impactful, and creatively charged 2026. Let’s create content that ignites conversations, connects communities, and inspires others.
